I’m so excited to be writing my very first blog for Kayleigh’s Clutter! So much work has gone into the site and now it is finally ready for me to do what I love – write!
So I thought for our first chat together I would just introduce myself!
Hi, I’m Kayleigh. I’m a Devonshire girl living in Yorkshire. I have just about worked out what the heck these Yorkshire lot are saying – their accent is wild! I have been here for nearly 6 years now after moving here from London, and living in Plymouth before that. Moving around, I have met so many great people and learned so much. Travelling is a love of mine and definitely something I hope to pursue more.
I’m 17 years old and an aspiring marketer. I am searching high and low for a marketing apprenticeship and so far I’m not having a whole lot of luck. But I’m really hopeful that something great will happen for me soon – I’ll let you know when that day comes! So for now, I’m going to keep myself busy writing this blog and keeping my skills up to par!
I have a beautiful ginger cockapoo called Loxley (see the cutest picture ever below). He’s 5, nearly 6, and is convinced he is human. He sleeps all day in a bed that isn’t his own and then when teatime hits, he wants to play and have absolutely all of your attention! I’m pretty sure he still thinks he’s a pup and we think so too; but Lox, I hate to break it to you boy, but your grey hairs are starting to show! Regardless, we wouldn’t change him for the world!

In November 2023, I was diagnosed with combined ADHD. While neither myself nor my family were surprised, it was still quite hitting. It explained everything – it was equal parts exciting and upsetting. Post diagnosis you really do go through the 5 stages of grief!
Now, just over 2 months later, I am learning what my diagnosis means for me and trying to make friends with it. I am on the path to medication – stay tuned to see how that goes! The important thing to know about me is amongst all of this, I am a bubbly, slightly crazy, blonde girl and that’s just how I like it! My brain is awesome!
I hope that I can reach likeminded people and we can learn from and comfort each other. Post diagnosis and even on this apprenticeship journey, I have struggled to find stories that relate to me. Perhaps a young girl like me may stumble across this blog one day and know she’s not alone or weird or mad! I hope this blog will reassure you that your mess will be just fine too.
So that’s blog 1 down – what’s next? Drop some suggestions below or even just say hi! I can’t wait to start connecting with you.
Until next time,
Kayleigh
